2019 Earlswood Carnival – 27th April 2019

Save the Date - Saturday 27th April 2019

After the success of last year’s Earlswood Carnival, we figured we'd be silly not to run it again! Not only was it an amazing fundraiser for 2nd Reigate, but also a fantastic community event. Approximatley 500 people came to join in with our festivites and we've received fantastic feedback about it!

This year's event is going to be bigger and better with a CIRCUS SKILLS WORKSHOP, EARLSWOOD’S BEST VICTORIA SPONGE CONTEST, PUNCH & JUDY, HUMAN FRUIT MACHINE, SPLAT THE LEADER, CRAFT VILLAGE, ACOUSTIC TENT, BEER TENT, FOOD STALLS, ,TUG OF WAR, KIDS DIAMOND & FOSSIL HUNT, INFLATABLE SLIDE, RAFFLE, FACEPAINTING, STORYTELLING WORKSHOP and lots of TRADITIONAL SUMMER FETE STALLS.

Make a date for it in your diary: Saturday 27th April, 2 - 5pm on Woodlands Road Green.

This year's Carnival will be hosting Earlswood's Best Victoria Sponge Contest. Enter your homemade cake - each entrant costs £3 and we will have 2 categories, 16+ and Under 16. We're asking you to bake a cake which will be sold in our cake tent after judging. Good luck!

A Note From Chairman

Thank you for supporting the Carnival and also the Earlswood Scouts, I hope you will have a lovely time on the 27th and also that you will be back every year. The Scouts have been in Earlswood for over 110 years and continue to support the local community, if you would like to support us financially on a regular bases, please contact fundraising@2ndReigate.org.uk

The story so far…

St John’s Church, the original landlords of our site, have sold it to a brilliant developer who is going to allow us to remain on the site forever. We are in discussions with him about what that looks like, and how we can build a new building so it can enhance the work we do with the kids/youth of the area and teach these future leaders the great priciples of being a Scout.

How can I help?

  • By being part of the Fundraising Committee
  • We need help making grant applications, to e.g. the Big Lottery Fund and other large organisations. If you have any experience in this area, we would like to hear from you.
  • If you have not already completed a Gift Aid form – it only takes a minute and costs you nothing. Gift Aid allows us to claim back 25p in the £1 from the Treasury, increasing the troop’s revenue.
