2019 Earlswood Carnival – 27th April 2018 – 2pm to 5pm
Save the Date - Saturday 27th April 2019
After the success of last year’s Earlswood Carnival, we figured we'd be silly not to run it again! Not only was it an amazing fundraiser for 2nd Reigate, but also a fantastic community event. Approximately 500 people came to join in with our festivities and we've received fantastic feedback about it!
This year's event is going to be bigger and better with lots of Traditional Fete Stalls.
Make a date for it in your diary: Saturday 27th April, 2 - 5pm on Woodlands Road Green.
To volunteer, please follow the links below.
See 2019-02 Carnival for more details.
A Note From Chairman
Fundraising Update: We are currently in the third phase of fundraising for our ‘New Scouting Home’. The leaders have taken up the call for the ‘Individual Challenge’, and a number of kids from all sections are also embarking on raising money for us.
We’re also beginning to apply for grants from bigger organisations to cover costs of the build.
Building Update: we are currently talking to the landlord about what is possible on the site and we should be getting to a formal planning stage at the end of Q2. The build is expected to start some time in Q4 this year and construction into 2018.
The story so far…
St John’s Church, the original landlords of our site, have sold it to a brilliant developer who is going to allow us to remain on the site forever. We are in discussions with him about what that looks like, and how we can build a new building so it can enhance the work we do with the kids/youth of the area and teach these future leaders the great priciples of being a Scout.
How can I help?
- By being part of the Fundraising Committee
- We need help making grant applications, to e.g. the Big Lottery Fund and other large organisations. If you have any experience in this area, we would like to hear from you.
- If you have not already completed a Gift Aid form – it only takes a minute and costs you nothing. Gift Aid allows us to claim back 25p in the £1 from the Treasury, increasing the troop’s revenue.
